Although small, a manual oil pump is a sophisticated mechanical system.
Its core components include a piston, cylinder, inlet valve, and outlet valve. The piston moves up and down within the cylinder. The inlet valve allows oil to flow in, while the outlet valve allows oil to flow out. When the piston rises, a negative pressure is created inside the cylinder, opening the inlet valve and closing the outlet valve, drawing in oil. When the piston falls, the inlet valve closes, the outlet valve opens, and the oil is expelled. This design ensures that the oil flows in only one direction.
