A high percentage of internal engine mechanical failures are combustion chamber sealing problems, such as improper intake and exhaust valve closure, broken piston rings, and cylinder scoring. Repair personnel typically use cylinder pressure gauges to assess combustion chamber sealing; however, this method has limitations, specifically in the following two aspects:
(1) Cylinder pressure gauges have a built-in one-way valve, and the measurement result is the cumulative pressure across multiple compression strokes, making them insensitive to minor combustion chamber leaks.
(2) Even if a significantly low cylinder pressure is detected, the leak location cannot be determined, requiring engine disassembly for further inspection. A cylinder leakage meter precisely compensates for the shortcomings of cylinder pressure gauges. It can accurately and quickly diagnose combustion chamber sealing problems, detecting even minor leaks. Its unique dual-pressure gauge design can calculate the combustion chamber leakage rate. Furthermore, based on the location of the leak sound, the leak point can be determined without disassembly.
